I am a Japanese movie reporter living in Los Angeles since early 80s. One aspect of my work is to interview Hollywood movie stars and write about them for Japanese publications. However, I have been a Brigitte Lin Ching Hsia fan since 1995 and it was always my dream to interview her. I do not speak any Chinese although I recognize many Chinese characters (most of them are the origin of Japanese kanji). Nevertheless, I interviewed her, as well as her friends and colleagues, several times over the years. The Last Star of The East: Brigitte Lin Ching Hsia and Her Films is the result of these interviews.
My next project will focus on Anita Mui Yim Fong, which I will write in my native language of Japanese. I believe in dreams and in the power of believing, so I will make that happen, as well.
